Cedar is a soft wood, comfortable to walk on. It generally lasts 25 - 30 years. Cedar can be left untreated to weather naturally to a silvery gray color or a deck finish can be applied to preserve the wood's rich colors. It's costs roughly twice as much as pressure treated pine. Cedar has a beautiful reddish color and smells great. It shrinks and swells very little, stays flat and resists checking. |
