Additions

Porch, garage, screen rooms, awnings, decks, rooms, levels, you name it - we can add it.

Here are some recent pictures (Jan. 2004) of a porch we did. The old porch was so bad we couldnt keep any of it.

This is the orignal porch, it was rotting away.
It was rather "plain jain" and didn't have much pich.
We completely removed the old porch and got the roof ready for the coming rain.
Instead of using plain 6" x 6" posts we went with a decorative 6" x 6". Here we have almost all the framing complete.
Here is another perspective. Using this style of roof gave the house some shape, and added value to the home.
We have it sheated and are about to install the ceiling. At the same time the roofers are roofing. On this job we used 30# felt and Owens 25 yr asphalt shingle. We run 10" flashing in our valleys.
We wrapped the facial with aluminum and put in aluminum vented sofit on the front overhang. This in combination with the airway hole we cut in the existing roof provides adequate ventilation.
Here we are just about done with the roof. All we have to do is cut back the rack and valleys.
All we have left to do is paint it.
Here we have just finished painting the posts and underhang. We also caulk all cracks on anything we paint. It makes for a MUCH nicer paint job. This job is complete as soon as we pack up and clean up our painting supplies. We covered the siding with plastic so as not to get paint splatter on it.
Another angle of the finished product.
A dramatic difference.
